"Amendments to Israel's Arbitration Law offer new means to challenge awards"

In this Article, the recent amendments to Israel's Arbitration Law, providing for the first time an appeal of arbitration decisions, and their rationales, are discussed. As elaborated in the Article, although it is difficult to assess at this relatively early stage whether the recent amendments will strengthen the institution of arbitration in Israel, it is nevertheless clear that the legislature and the judiciary are now aware that the public's willingness to use arbitration as opposed to traditional courtroom litigation crucially depends upon its perception as a fair and worthy legal process.
